Worcestershire business adapting to COVID-19

Worcestershire business adapting to COVID-19: Image 1 China Grey, a Worcestershire company specialising in unique, stylish mobile bars has had to rethink, re plan and adjust to this new world we find ourselves. Here, we find out from owner Christianne Hemming just how the company's doing...

"Like most other wedding suppliers, since March 23rd our order books closed for the foreseeable future," shares Christianne. "We've spent the time wisely, refreshing the horsebox bar, deep cleaning and reorganising just about everything in sight. We've concentrated on our social media marketing and keeping in close contact with all our current customers as well as potential new ones. We've been very fortunate to have rescheduled all of the weddings and events from this year and not had to disappoint anyone which is fantastic. The next two years bookings are looking very healthy indeed so not all bad news.

"We have recognised that people maybe having financial difficulties or just can't justify extra cost outlay at this point but with all the extra time in lockdown couples are still wanting to plan. So, for anyone out there wanting to plan their weddings or other events for 2021 and beyond, we can happily defer deposits until January 2021 and we can also take stage payments from January 2021 until six weeks before your event. Talk to us about budget options as well to keep your costs down as we will allow couples to provide their own wines and toast drinks at no corkage charge.

"We're also offering free hire of our giant LED Love Letters with all bookings taken during 2020. NHS key worker couples will also receive a bottle of Champagne on their big day as a thank you from us all at China Grey. Every gesture helps and with all this time on our hands it's still nice to know you can book things without worrying about payments until next year.
"Customers can also be assured that when we are able to reopen we will observe all social distancing and hygiene measures for the safety of everyone."
