October/November 2020

Welcome to our October/November issue! I feel a bit crazy saying that, how can it be October already, it feels like yesterday that it was January? I think we can all agree it’s been a crazy year, but it’s been so lovely seeing the West Midlands wedding industry come together and help couples power through these tough times.

Whether you’ve recently got engaged – congratulations! – or are re-planning your special day, think of us as your new BFF when it comes to wedding planning. We’re here to support you through every aspect of your day and have put together an issue bursting with inspiration. Our fashion section is full of the latest trends for the whole bridal party, we’ve asked local photographers to send in their favourite images and put together a catering feature to help you create the perfect menu.

If you’re still looking for a venue, don’t despair, we’ve rounded up properties in Cannock and Staffordshire and some of the best local barns.

We’re always looking for real weddings and styled shoots to feature in the magazine so make sure you submit yours at www.yourwestmidlands.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Enjoy the issue!

Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue

Set to open in 2021, Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue is a striking property with a rustic exterior and traditional oak beams. Guests will be impressed as they approach the barn through secluded woodland, capturing glimpses of the quirky accommodation as they approach the venue’s private car park. Inside, is stunning oak beams that support a contemporary glass roof which runs along the length of The Orangery and a wall of glass that opens up to bring the outside in. The exclusive-use Walled Gardens have been intriguingly designed and lovingly restored to include the original 18th-century red brick walls, botanical bounty, fragrant herbs and wildflowers.

The Wedding Lodge is included in the venue’s hire price and has a calm interior with cosy lighting and comfortable furnishings. There are 20 woodland lodges available for guests to book. These quirky, nature-inspired lodges will add an element of fun and adventure to any wedding.

The Orangery is a relaxed, botanically-inspired ceremony space (150), featuring a mixture of rustic charm, natural timber and modern innovation. This air-conditioned space ensures the room is kept the perfect temperature all year round, and the statement glasswork combined with the rustic oak beams makes this an enchanting space to tie the knot.

Wedding breakfasts are held inside the double-height, vaulted-ceiling Party Barn with room for up to 150 guests. The contemporary, industrial design and high ceilings look amazing in those all-important photographs.

Last month County Wedding Magazines shared with our readers bridalwear designer Sabina Motasem's intimate lockdown wedding - which we loved! This month, here's Sabina's top tips on hosting a personal, intimate, micro wedding.... weddings aren't gone, and they're certainly not forgotten!Sabina says, "Embracing a small and intimate wedding now and having a larger reception later can be intimately beautiful and you get to celebrate again with your guests. After our wedding date was postponed several times and it became clear a ceremony and reception were off the cards. We had a small wedding in September with 15 of our nearest and dearest. "The new wedding restrictions are for legally recognised weddings only in the UK, which means all 'non-legally' recognised weddings are sadly not and follows the 'Rule of 6'. In these instances, many weddings may have a cultural ceremony now followed by a civil ceremony and reception later.
