December/January 2019/2020

I’m thoroughly enjoying writing Your West Midlands Wedding this year, this is because of the abundance of inspiration that lands in my inbox from talented local suppliers.

Styled shoots provide the perfect insight for local couples looking to tie the knot in the area; with the plethora of flowers, cakes and dresses to choose from, where do you begin to plan a wedding? By looking in your local wedding magazine, Your West Midlands Wedding, because this issue we have five amazing shoots, and three gorgeous weddings showcasing what’s wonderful about the region.

After the influx of Christmas nuptials – still a popular time to ask that all important question – I welcome all of our lovely new readers to the wonderful world of weddings; we hope you love this white bubble as much as we do!

Pull up a chair, pour a brew, and happy reading!

Iscoyd Park

Iscoyd Park is an 18th-century Georgian house nestled in the beautiful Shropshire countryside which has been lovingly restored to keep the traditional essence of the house. Contemporary decoration has been added and the owners want Iscoyd Park to feel like it’s a home away from home.

The bedrooms were designed by Suzy Hoodless, who wanted to breathe life back into the house and recent work includes the interior design of Allbright.

This Grade II listed building is packed full with incredible history and dates back to 1737 but other parts date back as far as 1700. It has been in the Godsal family since 1843 and to this day the family not only run the wedding and events venue but also use it as a family home.

The interior style of the venue is a homely and traditional space that’s not stuffy or formal but relaxed and welcoming. The outside has picturesque gardens developed by award-winning garden designer, Xa Tollemache.

Ceremonies take place in multiple locations at this venue, one being The Drawing Room. This is a small and intimate space bursting with character featuring family portraits, classical paintings, chandeliers and a marble fireplace.

The Garden Room seats up to 130 guests and has a long aisle, series of arches and portland stone floor to create almost a churchlike feel. Light floods in through huge windows that look out onto the idyllic gardens beyond. Apart from the stunning chandeliers, there’s little decoration in the space to allow lovebirds to make this room their own.

Nestled in the idyllic and unspoiled countryside, couples can tie the knot in St Mary’s Church a romantic setting echoed by the atmosphere inside with the beautiful stained-glass windows, family memorials and carved inscriptions. The church has a galleried seating area and can accommodate up to 150 people.

Receptions at the venue take place in two spaces. The marquee, which is the largest space and is a permanent structure with floor-toceiling windows and The Coach House that has just been recently renovated. This is a relaxed, intimate setting for weddings and events that sits 135 family and friends in a theatre style and has room for 70 guests formally seated.
