A group of suppliers created this stunning shoot at Blakelands Country House

After a summer of lockdown, it's been a difficult time for the wedding industry and suppliers who are used to working closely together. To find out a bit more about the inspiration for the shoot, we spoke to Chloe Morgan, the Wedding Coordinator at Blakelands Country House: "We mutually agreed on a boho theme as we feel the simple colours are going to become very popular with weddings in the future. Emily Grosvenor started off the inspiration with her make-up palettes of soft pinks and nudes. From there, Clare's Weddings came up with the most fabulous flowers, going for a simple and rustic feel and all the other finer details stemed from there. We're so lucky to have a large site so we could all socially distance and still have a great time! We hope this shoot gives couples some inspiration and trust that we will have fabulous weddings, even during COVID-19."... read more

Still Light Photography reveals three of their favourite images

Photographs are more than just keepsakes. They're a way of reliving those happy memories over and over again and reminding yourself of just how wonderful life can be. "Getting creative at weddings is what I'm all about. I love this image showing the bride getting ready with her best friends. We interview Don't Go Baking My Heart Cakes

We interview Don't Go Baking My Heart Cakes

"I've always enjoyed baking ever since I was very young. I remember baking our Christmas cakes every year as a family, all excited to take our turn stirring the mixture and making a wish (I realise traditionally, this should be done with the Christmas pudding, but we like cake)! Occasionally I was allowed to make puddings for Sunday lunch, it would usually be something easy like an apple crumble, but for me, this has always been what baking is about, something I can give to make others happy. As I got older, I started to make family and friends celebration cakes and eventually decided to take it more seriously, so started taking evening classes after work to learn how to decorate.... read more

A team of talented suppliers worked together to create this fabulous shoot at Crumplebury

Louise Roberts from May Rose Floral Design and a host of local suppliers worked together to create this impressive set of images. Louise tells us: "We wanted to create a modern shoot, and when we found Crumplebury, it fitted our theme perfectly. The property has a modern and natural feel with lots of attention to detail, from high ceilings and vast windows to amazing views of the surrounding countryside. The day was captured by the talented Dearest Love Photography, who showcased our vision perfectly." The team incorporated monochrome colours into the décor. "I used anemones, tulips, ranunculus, roses, waxflowers and foliage to create a modern but romantic feel," explains Louise. We interview local photographer, Leanne Brookes from LB Photography

I don't really have much of a background when it comes to photography. Growing up, I was always the creative one, never the academic child. To be honest, I wanted to be a vet when I was little, then I wanted to act (I loved drama at school), so I went to college and studied Performing Arts and Dance, and it was at college where I found out I was dyslexic, which made sense! I went on to university and photography was never on my radar, even though I did take a lot of photos! It probably wasn't until my daughter was born that the obsession for taking photos grew (which happens with every parent I think!). I have slowly got better cameras and started taking photos of landscapes and nature while trying to get better photos of my daughter. Then one day someone said 'you should do weddings' and I thought, 'why not?!'... read more

How will law reforms impact weddings

How will law reforms impact weddings

In the biggest reform proposed to England's marriage ceremony law the Government's legal advisors have recommended that couples be allowed to marry in whatever outdoor location they choose. The current law, which prohibits couples from marrying in anything other than a permanent structure with a roof if the ceremony is to be solemnised legally, has been largely unchanged since 1836. The Law Commission (an independent body which scrutinises legislation) are wishing to radically modernise the current antiquated laws. There is a strong consensus from the public that reform is desperately required as the current laws are not fit for purpose nor are they reflective of the way in which people wish to solemnise their relationship.... read more
