Bridal designer Sabina Motasem wins Marie Claire Award

A strappy bridal dress by wedding dress designer Sabina Motasem

Bridal designer Sabina Motasem has won the 2023 Marie Claire Sustainability Award for the second year in a row. Sabina Motasem, who founded the label in 2006 says, "To say we are completely blown away is an understatement. We're on a mission to prove beautiful design AND regenerative sustainability can seamlessly go together."

Sabina has continued to make workwear tops for Smartworks from silky off-cuts and now transforming more waste fabrics into baby clothes for a refugee charity called AFRIL to further reduce the brand's carbon footprint and have zero waste.

That's not all – all plastic zips have been removed, care labels are made with GOTS-certified (organic) materials and dress covers are now beautifully home-made with no zips. Plus, all old samples get regularly donated to the ethical bridal outlet Brides Do Good too.

Mary Fellowes, Fashion Sustainability Expert and Marie Claire Sustainability Awards judge 2023 said, "Short of not producing anything, I don't see many other ways at this point that a bridalwear company can be any more responsible or sustainable. Highly impressed by the 360-degree approach they have. They have left no stone unturned."

Sabina's Big Bridal Sample Sale has been extended until the end of 31st October and includes 25 dress styles while stocks last. To find out more, visit https://www.sabinamotasem.com
