My husband-to-be and I are set to tie the knot in a New Year's Eve wedding. I want quite a simple look during the day that can be vamped up for the evening do – what would you suggest?
Rachel Savine says: Use these tips to help achieve a simple daytime bridal look, which can be easily transformed for your evening celebration:
♥ Choose a semi-matte foundation to even out your skin tone. The velvet finish this gives your skin will provide the perfect canvas for your day-to-evening look.
♥ Apply blusher to the apples of your cheeks; keep it soft as you can layer it up later.
♥ A matte eyeshadow will keep your look simple, opt for taupe, soft caramel or flesh tones.
♥ Keep to one coat of lengthening mascara during the day.
♥ I'd recommend MAC Lipglass for your lips, which is really versatile. Apply a base with a neutral lip pencil then apply the gloss for a subtle sheen.
Now to vamp up your make-up for your evening look:
♥ Try using a deep bronze eyeshadow, which is going to be a hot trend for 2019, or a deeper brown in the crease of your eye socket area. A silver or gold glitter applied on the centre of your eyelid really makes them sparkle!
♥ Add eyeliner to the top lashline as this will define your eyes and consider wearing false lashes or applying additional coats of mascara.
♥ Softly brush a contour powder under your cheekbones, top up your blusher, then sweep a highlighter on to the top for a glowing and radiant complexion.
♥ Select a lipstick in a rich shade, then apply lip gloss over the top to create a glass-like finish.
These tricks will help you add drama and showstopping glamour to your bridal style!
