Famous British auction house Christie's recently made history by auctioning the finest pink diamond at a staggering 19cts! Founder of Birmingham-based WP Diamonds, Andrew Brown offers his advice on choosing the colour gem for your big day.

“Pink diamonds are admired among an impressive lineup of celebrities including Margot Robbie, Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez. Natural pink diamonds are among the rarest and there are only a small number of mines around the world with most coming from, Argyle in Australia. Their rarity makes them extremely valuable,” says Andrew. “If opting for jewellery with pink diamonds for your big day, look out for brown tints as this can diminish the value of the stone. Generally speaking, the key is to look for an unmodified colour graded by The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a non-profit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemmology and the jewellery arts.”
