Nestled in secluded surroundings in the Shropshire countryside, Lilleshall House and Gardens were built in 1831. It was the former home and hunting lodge of the Duke of Sutherland and overlooks the Grade II listed Capability Brown-inspired gardens. There are plenty of places to take photographs, including the Golden Gates, which are the exact replicas of those adorning Buckingham Palace and the 70-foot high obelisk. This grand stately heritage site boasts historical features with oak-panelled walls in the reception area, original fireplaces and decorative ceilings in the 29 newly refurbished bedrooms.
Celebrate in style
The Duke of Sutherland Room is a traditional oak-panelled space that’s formerly the dining room of the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland. It has a feature fireplace and bay windows overlooking the beautiful gardens with room for 60 guests.
After the ceremony, receptions are held in Chapters, the Duke of Sutherland’s former library, which features oak-panelled walls and a fireplace.
We love...
W-day couples will receive a complimentary bridal suite on the night of the wedding, and friends and family can relax in one of the newly-renovated bedrooms.
