Jess and Rupert met at a party celebrating their GCSE results. "We instantly clicked and found out we were about to go to thesame sixth form," says Jess. "We were the best of friends for the two years of sixth form, and although Rupert already knew, I finally realised it was more than a friendship just before we headed to university. I went to Bristol and Rupert went up to Leeds, so long-distance was the only option for three years! After a gap year, I moved up to Leeds to complete my teacher training and to be near him."
Rupert surprised Jess by proposing. "We had discussed getting married and agreed we wanted to do it, but the proposal wasa complete surprise," shares the bride. "Since moving to Leeds, I always wanted to spend a day exploring Harrogate, so as it was approaching Christmas, I organised a day trip to go see the festive lights. Rupert suggested going on a walk up Almscliffe Crag on the way, and when we reached the top, we paused to take some pictures, and Rupert got down on one knee. After a lot of confusion, I said yes!"
