We interviewed Anna Thomas from Evelyn & Elliot to find out more about her company.
Q – Tell us about your company.
Evelyn & Elliot creates award-winning wedding stationery that reflects you as a couple and sets the tone for your wedding day. I will begin your creative love story with the very first glimpse that your guests receive right through to on the day and beyond. Your stationery will allow your guests to feel part of your special wedding journey that will be remembered for years to come.
I offer existing design collections that can be adjusted to suit your day or a bespoke service where we will create something unique just for you. Each item is thoughtfully designed and made in Evelyn & Elliot’s studio in Shropshire, delivering throughout the UK and internationally.
Q – What packages do you offer couples?
Evelyn & Elliot offers a full design service to continue your theme from your initial invite or save-the-date to on the day stationery and right through to saying thank you.
Place name cards.
Reserved seat tags and much more.
Q – What should couples expect when booking your services?
Couples should expect personal service and guidance throughout. Providing ideas if you're unsure and help if you’re overwhelmed. I want you to relax knowing your wedding stationery is in good hands and will work with you to create your vision. I will provide visuals at every stage to make sure you are happy with the progress.
Q – How long before the wedding should couples get in touch?
It’s never too early to get in touch, my books are always open, and I’m happy to chat. If you're thinking of sending save-the-dates, these are usually sent out 10 – 12 months before your wedding and invitations are sent six months before. I’ve even had some couples send invites a year ahead. Once you've booked, you will have peace of mind knowing your date is secured, and another important part of your planning is ticked off your list.
Q – What's your favourite part of the job?
I love to see my couples when they receive their stationery. It’s all so exciting, and I feel privileged to have been a part of their plans. Many of my couples say that receiving their invitations makes the fact that they are getting married feel real.
Designing the whole wedding stationery suite from save-the-dates to on the day stationery is so rewarding. I love how everything ties in and creates an overall look for the day. Each couple I meet and work with are so different, which makes my job so enjoyable. Each bespoke design certainly tells a story.
Q – Do you have any top tips for couples planning their weddings?
Don’t wait to book your favourite suppliers! If you have a business in mind that you’ve got your heart set on to provide for your wedding, then contact them as soon as you have a date set and get booked in. Now the wedding industry has opened up again, and all your lovely weddings are happening, make sure you get your date secured to avoid disappointment.
Don’t try and do everything at once. Start with the date and venue and start ticking the most important things off your list first. Doing too much too soon can be very overwhelming, and the whole process will become daunting. Don’t be afraid to talk to suppliers about your requirements and ask for advice, as that is what we are here for.
Most of all enjoy! It’s a very exciting time, follow your heart and have fun planning your perfect day.
