The Belfry Hotel & Resort, located in Royal Sutton Coldfield, North Warwickshire, has donated its entire green fee income to a number of UK charities.
The resort was set to host over 30 charity golf days in 2020, but due to the pandemic, donations and many fundraising activities have been cancelled or postponed, so The Belfry has made the decision to donate the funds to show their support.
The donations from the resort’s green fees have supported a variety of causes, from charities supporting treatments for and research into serious illnesses, children’s hospitals and hospices, to charity trusts supporting ex-sportsmen. It also includes the two nominated Belfry charities for 2020, Matt Hampson Foundation and LoveBrum.
James Macbeth Stewart, resort director, said: “It has been a challenging time for many charities who rely on donations to survive, so we have decided to donate all our green fees to show our support for all of the fantastic work they do. At The Belfry we are fortunate to be able to host many charity golf days a year, so we want to take this opportunity to give something back so charities can continue to help those who need it most.”
