"Since lockdown and the associated impact on the wedding industry I have been working hard with my brides affected by the restrictions to re-book my appointments on their new dates," shares Laura. Read on to hear more about Laura and how she's overcoming this uncertain time.
"It's been heart-breaking to see the postponement of so many people's big day until later in the year or even into 2021. In some cases, couples have lost suppliers and, in some extreme cases, had their venues go into liquidation.
"From a personal perspective I've honoured all deposits and tried to make re-booking as easy a process as possible in order to keep stress levels down for everyone involved. As part of the "Love Local Weddings" Facebook page, me and many other suppliers are offering 20% off our prices for those people affected by postponements should they need new suppliers.
What I've been doing
"In addition to the above, I've looked at lockdown as an opportunity to develop my skill-set and, in turn, my offering to my customers. I have enrolled in and completed a course in "Dermaplaning", an extremely popular salon treatment that exfoliates the top layer of the skin and removes peach fuzz, making your skin look smooth and glowy and leaving your pores clean and ready to better absorb and skincare and/or makeup product that you use."I've been advertising the treatment ready for when lockdown is appropriately lifted, and it's already proved extremely popular and I've had almost 50 people register for treatments already. Working closely with "Tommy James Photography" and "AJT Images" we have also set up the "Midlands Online Wedding Fayre" on Facebook, giving brides to be the opportunity to browse from a list of hand-picked suppliers in an online environment. Bringing the wedding fayre experience to brides and grooms, we aim to help people continue to plan for their big day despite the current disruption. Following our first fayre on Sunday 3rd of May, there will be a follow up expected in early July."

"Prior to lockdown my family and I were in the process of buying a new house in Hinckley. My intention, when we can complete the move, is to have our garage converted in order to offer a home studio facility for my customers as well as continuing to offer my mobile service."Lockdown has given me the chance to work on my studio design, price lists and stationery based on my new brand to complement my existing "Laura Timms Hair and Makeup Artist" business. So please keep your eyes peeled for "Studio 26" becoming a reality later in 2021. I'm really missing you all and I can't wait to get back out to see you all soon...until then, STAY SAFE x "
