Warwickshire’s foodie hidden gems

Warwickshire’s foodie hidden gems: Image 1 Surrounded by some of England's most beautiful walks, close to buzzing Stratford-Upon-Avon and surrounded by National Trust and other heritage properties, Lovely Pubs brings you the cosiest foodie havens in Warwickshire: three properties all offering good value, nourishing food, a friendly atmosphere and comfortable, stylish surroundings with no strings attached.

Warwickshire’s foodie hidden gems: Image 2 The Boot Inn is an idyllic country pub, situated in Lapworth, with exposed brick walls and rustic wooden furnishings, serving up traditional pub classics with a modern twist and with an open log fire to keep you toasty.
Self-taught chef Harshad Chavda (hash) serves up new menus with the seasons and lives food, from reading mountains of recipes to trawling through the fresh spice markets around Birmingham in order to source the ingredients that often give his dishes the gentlest Asian twists. Relying on local producers as well as Asian supermarkets and coastal fish suppliers, his beef rendang – aromatic and hearty – is as sought after as classic fish & chips and burgers.
For Christmas, the Boot's menu includes Spiced Parsnip Soup, Beer-Braised Daube of Beef and a Baileys Cheesecake. At lunchtime The Boot Inn offer two courses for £21.95 or three for £24.95; in the evening, choose as you will from a wide menu or take advantage of their Christmas offer - £28.95 for three courses.

Warwickshire’s foodie hidden gems: Image 3 The Moat House is just outside the small Roman town of Alcester and close to the Worcestershire border, with the two stunning stately homes of Coughton Court (NT) and Ragley Hall (Home of the Marquis of Hertford). It is a fun, friendly gourmet spot serving the classics as well as authentic Italian pizzas, grills and steaks – all cooked on their wood-fired oven.
Some favourites from their newly-launched Christmas menu include Smooth Duck Liver and Port Pate, Slow Cooked Blade of Beef and a Clementine Posset for pudding. The Moat House are offering two courses for £20.95 or three courses for £23.95 at lunch time from their Christmas menu, or in the evening they offer three courses for £26.95.

Warwickshire’s foodie hidden gems: Image 4 Two miles from Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon, Baraset Barn Hotel is the perfect gastronomic getaway, with a renowned local restaurant now boasting 16 glorious new rooms housed in a spacious barn conversion, recently recognised as among the top 100 British Hotels by a national paper.
It is simply the most ideal 'restaurant with rooms' with striking interior design that takes inspiration from the building's charming original features, working with natural materials such as wood and stone alongside original artworks and unique antique pieces, artefacts and ceramics to create a timeless look.
Baraset Barn Restaurant is a favourite local foodie spot set in a 200-year-old barn and with a menu that focuses on exceptional fresh produce from local orchards, fields and farms. Highlights include Gin and Cranberry cured Salmon, Slow Roast Blade of Beef and for pudding an indulgent Dark Chocolate Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding. Three courses are £26.95 for lunch, or £31.95 for dinner.
