Luxury, global bridal designers have chosen Birmingham as the city to make their collections accessible to UK brides outside of London, with the launch of a newly opened boutique: Feathers.
Dana Harel - one of Israel's top bridal and evening-wear designers has launched her brand in the UK through the Birmingham-based partnership, making her luxury gowns available to modern UK brides for the first time.
Dana has quickly developed a reputation as the next up-and-coming designer to reach the international markets, having dressed celebrities including supermodel Bar Refaeli, Quentin Tarantino's fiancée Daniella Pick, TV presenter Keltie Knight and actress Adria Arjona. The designer specialises in clean cuts, fresh designs, and luxurious, unique textiles. Each of her gowns is entirely custom-made and she has chosen new Birmingham bridal boutique, Feathers, to launch her collections in the UK with the only other planned stockist being in London later this year.
Global fashion brand, Viktor&Rolf, has also announced that it is expanding out of London with the opening of Feathers. It has chosen the boutique to be its first UK bridal stockist outside of the capital and only its second in the country. The move will make Viktor&Rolf Mariage's creations more accessible to more women.Viktor&Rolf is an avant-garde fashion house recognised for its conceptual approach to modern glamour, and its couture creations evoke a provocative spirit and an unexpected elegance. Each dress in the collection has an individual, autonomous character.
Joining them is statement wedding gown designer, Elihav Sasson, which is using Birmingham-based Feathers' opening to expand out of the South. As its second British stockist, Feathers will make it easier for brides looking for something a little different to try on one of his gowns. The Elihav Sasson brand is renowned for romantic, show-stopping gowns adorned with exquisite details like sultry open backs, illusion bodices, floor grazing capes and diaphanous trains.
Feathers is also stocking a collection of fashion-forward Halfpenny London styles which weave Brit cool with luxe sensibility.Feathers models itself as a luxury bridal boutique with personality. It aims to make designer brands more accessible for women outside of London as a destination store for brides from across the country.
The newly opened store in Birmingham's Great Western Arcade stocks wedding dresses, separates, jumpsuits and accessories designed for the modern bride who wants to let their true personality and style shine through on their wedding day, without having to travel to the capital.
Holly Johnson, owner of Feathers, said: "It is brilliant that such high-profile designers are putting their confidence in the city. It can sometimes be hard for modern, fashion-forward brides living outside of the capital to find their dream wedding outfit whether that be clean and crisp, sexy and sultry, fabulously fancy or amazingly avant-garde.
"Women should not have to compromise on their style on their wedding day. These inspiring designers coming to Birmingham give them more opportunities to show their true personality on their big day. I would encourage brides to make an appointment today to try on one of their gowns."
