August/September 2020

I’ve worked at County Wedding Magazines for almost four years now, and I’ve always admired the gorgeous venues, weddings and talented suppliers in the West Midlands and I’m really excited to introduce myself as the new editor.

I think we can all agree its been a stressful few months. Many of you will have sadly had to postpone your nuptials, but thankfully things are slowly getting back to normal and just in time for wedding season! Whether you’re looking for a venue, photographer or the perfect dress, we’ve got you covered with an issue bursting with inspiration.

We’re looking at beautiful flowers on page 47, local suppliers give their advice on looking your best on page 77, and we explore fairytale venues on page 21.

We’re always looking for styled shoots and real weddings to feature in the magazine, enter online here – www.yourwestmidlands.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Happy planning!

Ettington Park Hotel

Set within 40 acres of parkland in a verdant valley with the River Stour meandering through is the grand Ettington Park Hotel. Inside couples will find historic architecture, wondrous ceilings, ornate chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows which present breathtaking views of the grounds. There are also several bedrooms for guests to choose from, extravagant lounges and inspiring suites. Outside there are plenty of places to take photographs, including the impressive turrets, neo-Gothic brickwork, classic arched windows and on-site Norman Church and Orangery.

The South Room has large sash windows overlooking the manicured gardens and Normal Chapel. The beautiful wood-panelled ceiling is illuminated by gold chandeliers, and the Duke of Essex stone fireplace makes this room feel grand and luxurious. It can accommodate 100 friends and family for the ceremony and 60 for the evening celebration.

Alternatively, The Bell Tower can be used. Capable of holding 100 guests, it’s tucked away in the grounds and has a grand Normal Chapel frame that couples can get married under. The Orangery can also hold 100 people and boasts intricately carved arches, manicured Victorian gardens and lots of natural light.

The Library has 18th-century features, oak-wood bookcases filled with an array of colourful literature and space for 60 loved ones.

Receptions take place in either the Great Drawing Room or Private Dining space. Here, guests can dance under spectacular chandeliers, gaze at the stained-glass windows and enjoy magnificent views.
