April/May 2020

Firstly, I hope all of our readers have been keeping well during this surreal, unprecedented time.

It would be hard for me to not mention the dreaded c-word, however, I admire how everyone, no matter how badly they have been effected, has come together to help and support one another.

The tide will start turning, and we can all begin to re-plan cancelled weddings, re-book honeymoons and get back to our wonderful world of weddings – supporting local couples and businesses finding their feet again!

This issue, will hopefully give you some light relief, and offer up some inspiration for your weddings at the end of this year and beyond.

Our styled shoots this issue offer ideas aplenty, from rustic details to bold black and white colour schemes – be sure to check those out!

With summer soon on our doorstep, these venues over on page 21 have some glorious gardens and picture-perfect outdoor settings.

Talking about picture-perfect, we get to know local photographers from the area, from what inspired them to become professionals to their top wedding tips – it’s a great read over on page 62.

Look after yourselves, and enjoy this issue

The Rugby Hotel

The Rugby Hotel, ideally situated in the centre of the town, is a fine example of early Georgian architecture. The Grade II Listed building dates back to 1728 when it acquired the status of an inn; although prior to this date and possibly as early as the 1650s it was a coaching inn.

The interior décor is in the early Georgian style with panelled walls and beamed ceilings while the Warwick Suite, at the heart of the hotel, has glittering chandeliers and mirrored walls.

The Bloxam Room at Rugby Registry Office, just a minute’s walk from The Rugby Hotel, is decorated and furnished in shades of jade and cream and seats 60 guests. The beautifully maintained gardens adjacent to the Registry Office are just a minute’s walk from the hotel and provide an excellent photo opportunity for your wedding ceremony.

Back at the hotel, receptions take place in The Warwick Suite, which is richly decorated with mirrored walls and glittering chandeliers, it’s suitable for a wedding breakfast of up to 70 guests. There is a dancefloor separating the Warwick Suite from the Restaurant, which is ideal as a reception room for parties of 120 in the Warwick Suite or as the venue for smaller, more intimate receptions of up to 30 guests.

Couples benefit from free room hire for all weddings with the option to hire in their own caterers and special accommodation rates for wedding guests.
