New Hall Hotel & Spa

New Hall has the reputation of being England’s oldest listed inhabited moated house with 26 acres of richly timbered land, thick pasture and elegant gardens. The terraces south of the moat date back to the 16th century. The grounds’ shrubbed areas and sunny terraces are heavenly in the summer but in the winter transform into an enchanting winter wonderland.

At 800 years old, New Hall is a fine example of late Medieval architecture with stunning features straight out of a fairytale. These include crenellated stone towers, mullioned windows and the most enchanting detail – a moat complete with wooden footbridge. Originally designed to keep out intruders, today the moat plays home to a wide variety of wildlife including ducks and geese and some of the largest carp to be found in the Midlands.

With features such as oak panelled-walls, welcoming open fires, ornate ceilings and views over the moat and gardens, the hotel is a magical place for romantic occasions.

The Great Chamber is a beautiful room which creates the perfect backdrop for ceremonies, of 75 guests, and wedding breakfasts, of 50, or for more intimate parties. It benefits from oak-panelled walls, an ornate ceiling with crystal chandeliers and views over the moat and gardens.

Situated in the grounds, with striking views of the hotel and gardens, The Garden Pavilion is a semi-permanent marquee which is truly versatile and can be transformed to suit most receptions, 150 guests for dining and 200 attendees for the evening do. It benefits from lots of natural daylight and includes a private bar, dancefloor and cloakrooms.

There’s also a purpose-built tranquil health club and spa set in the grounds, designed to complement the grandeur of the estate. The spa has three treatment rooms offering pampering and beauty services from expert therapists using leading products from Comfort Zone, including Tranquillity Face and Body Ritual and the Sublime Skin Deluxe Facial which are ideal for pre-wedding relaxation and to give skin a dewy, smooth glow. There’s also a nail bar offering luxury mani-pedis, make-up trials and on-the-day service, full body tan and selected wax treatments to get fully wedding-ready. The spa also has a sauna, steam room, spa pool and indoor swimming pool and loungers outside. There’s also a health club with cardiovascular and weight training equipment and plenty of space outside for a refreshing morning or afternoon run!

When choosing this as a big-day venue, all wedding packages include a complimentary menu tasting and an overnight stay for the special couple in a suite.
