The Abbey Hotel

The venue in three words... elegant, charming and inviting.

Setting? The Abbey is in the Victorian spa town of Great Malvern. Built on the site of a Benedictine monastery at the foot of the Malvern Hills, The Abbey still features the ancient Priory Church.

Interior? At the heart of The Abbey is a grand staircase which is complemented by the hotel’s warm and rustic décor. The venue is the perfect combination of luxury and comfort, offering a homely yet opulent vibe.

Exterior? With its Virginia Creeper-covered façade and stunning landscaped gardens, it’s the perfect setting for countryside wedding photos.

The gardens? One garden is positioned opposite The Abbey, offering spectacular views of both the hills and the hotel itself; this garden also features an enchanting water feature.

Tie the knot in… the largest of the venue’s event suites, the Elgar Suite – entirely self-contained with its own dedicated entrance, which is ideal for up to 300 ceremony guests. The Hereford Suite, The Montgomery Suite and The Malvern Suite are each suitable for an intimate ceremony of 20 of your nearest and dearest.

Celebrate in… the Elgar Suite, flooded with natural daylight it offers lovely views of the Malvern Priory and the landscaped gardens – it’s ideal for 325 evening revellers. Alternatively, The Worcester Suite, Garden Suite, Montgomery Suite and Malvern Suite can host wedding receptions of 50, 30, 20 and 20 guests respectively.

Licensed for ceremonies? Yes.

Accommodation? Yes, wedding guests are offered discounted rates.

We love… The Shaw Suite’s ornate glass ceiling. The beautiful feature makes for an unforgettable wedding ceremony of 125 people and an additional 25 partygoers.
